Six Way To Protect Yourself From Evil Intent Of Spirits, Ghosts

Studies have shown that roughly 45 percent of Americans believe in ghosts with 18 percent saying they've actually seen a ghost. That number might seem high given they believe in something that has never been proven or scientifically studied in any real way, but the fact remains, too many people have had "coincidences" that simply can't be explained any other way. And so they believe.
For most of us, spirit encounters are casual. A door pulled out of our hand. An unexplained cold blast of air. Something falls off a shelf across the room. Few of these encounters are scary or evil or feel like the horror movies we have all watched.
But sometimes these spirits are malevolent. And sometimes they are even worse. So how can a person protect themselves from those spirits that might intend to do them harm? Here are six ways:

1. Use Gemstones

A variety of gemstones can offer a person protection from evil spirits. Among them are black tourmaline, agate, bloodstone, emerald, labradorite, black onyx, peridot, and emerald. Of these, the black tourmaline is the most effective. There are Etsy shops that actually specialize in these healing crystals in blends that can protect you.
The truth is, if you believe in their effect, that's half the battle. Wear it, carry it, sleep with it next to your bed.

2. Cleanse the Space

One of the ways to cleanse a space is to go to a local church and get holy water. Splash it all around the home in various corners and ask the ghost to leave. This works whether or not you have Christian beliefs, but if that is not comfortable for you, another thing you can do is burn sage. You can buy it at various healing bookshops or even burn sage incense. Open all the windows, light it up, walk around the house, asking the ghosts to leave.

3. Use Special Herbs

Various herbs are recommended to help cleanse the home of malevolence. You can find a full list here. A few that are easier to obtain are anise, amaranth, basil, cacao, cayenne, chamomile, clove, cumin, dill, and fennel. Each herb has a specific use and tackles different kinds of hauntings. Use wisely.

4. Pray

If you're a non-believer, this may not be an easy step to follow. But let's face it, if you believe you have a ghost, you are already past the state of non-believing. And, prayer, even when you don't believe in God, can still be very powerful.
If you are looking for a non-denominational prayer, try the circle of light:
The light of God surrounds us (me).
The love of God enfolds us (me).
The power of God protects us (me).
The presence of God watches over us (me).
Wherever we are (I am), God is.
And all is well.

5. Clear your aura

Ghosts and bad spirits tend to stay away from people with clean auras. So how do you keep your aura cleansed? Yoga. White sage. Copal. Tibetan incense. Get at least 15 minutes of exposure to sunlight each day.

6. Try to stop believing

This may sound trite and silly but if you believe strongly in the possibility of evil spirits and demonic possession, you're more vulnerable. Those who don't believe are a lot more likely to dismiss anything odd and therefore are less vulnerable to possession. Of course, this is easier said than done especially if you've had an encounter with the unknown.
